Scientific American Brasil Nature , no fim de junho, revelam evidências de que Encélado , uma das luas de Saturno , pode ter umoceano de água líquida sob sua superfície congelada , o que permitiria a existência de algum tipo de vida extraterrestre em local suficientemente próximo para ser visitado por sondas robóticas .polo sul dessa lua, plumas de vapor de água e de gelo ,ejetadas para o espaço através de fendas na superfície, permitem suspeitar que um oceano alimente essas erupções .pesquisadores europeus mostrou evidências que apoiam essa teoria, usando a nave Cassini para localizar grãos salgados e congelados no anel E de Saturno . O estudo foi publicado na Nature on-line, em 24 de junho. [ Leia+ ] "O anel E é formado basicamente pelos jatos gelados de Encélado. Assim, a presença de sódio nesse anel revela a possibilidade de existir um oceano salgado sob a superfície da lua. Os compostos de sódio, explicam os autores, 'mostram uma semelhança convincente com a composição prevista para um oceano sob a superfície de Encélado, em contato com seu núcleo rochoso'."
